Hans Vestberg, CEO of Verizon Wireless since 2018 and Chairman since 2019, has been instrumental in shaping Verizon's 5G network strategy. Under his leadership, Verizon became the first in the world to launch 5G and 5G Mobile Edge Compute, significantly expanding its network nationally and internationally. Vestberg's strategic vision encompasses enhancing mobility, cloud services, and the latest AI applications to create meaningful connections for customers. He spearheaded the $53 billion purchase of C-Band spectrum, the largest such acquisition in history, and introduced customizable mobility plans like myPlan. Before Verizon, Vestberg transformed Ericsson from a hardware-centric company to a software and services giant, holding various global leadership roles over 25 years.

Under Vestberg’s guidance, Verizon continues to lead in telecommunications innovation. The company has introduced 5G private network solutions for enterprises and governments and collaborated with tech giants like Apple and Amazon to unveil pioneering products such as the world's first 5G iPhone and mobile edge computing public network. Vestberg’s commitment to digital inclusion is evident through his involvement with the World Economic Forum’s EDISON Alliance and the UN’s Sustainable Development Solutions Network. His leadership extends beyond technology, driving impactful global initiatives focused on digital equity.
